At First Sight A Timber Wolves Companion Timber Wolves Trilogy eBook Tammy Blackwell

If you happen to have read any of my other reviews for Tammy Blackwell then you must realize that I am somewhat smitten with anything that comes out of her pen. It is with that disclaimer that I say, this was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

This entire companion happens during the first two chapters of the first book in the Timber Wolves Trilogy. We get into the minds of the other characters. First Liam, then Alex, Talley, Charlie and finally Jase. And each person took you a little further into the story chronologically. It was awesome because we get to read about the first time Liam sees Scout, then the first time that Alex sees Scout, then the beginning of when Talley starting "seeing", then we hear from Charlie and Jase. I am in love with Liam and thus being in his mind was my favorite to be a part of it all.

It was great, every second. Buy it, and read it, but only if you have read the rest of the series (I mean it, you must read all three before going back to read this). And if you haven't read the trilogy then you are missing out!

Apparently I wasn't writing reviews yet when I read the first one.

My only complaint is that I want more about Liam (and Scout).

At First Sight A Timber Wolves Companion Timber Wolves Trilogy eBook Tammy Blackwell Reviews

I was glad the author took a chance to elaborate on some of the characters in the Timber Wolves series. All the characters are likable but before this book, we really didn't get to see how some of the relationships developed and how they felt about what was going on. If you have read the other books in the series then this one is a great companion read to them.
This whole series was great. So, when I saw that I could get short stories or snipets from the other main characters about different parts of the series, I was ecstatic. This didn't disappoint. Don't read if you haven't read the series though, as it will give away some plot points. However, I definitely recommend this for those who've read it. It's great to get some insider insights to what they were thinking!!
I enjoyed some of the different view points in this novella. It even made me almost want to read the series again. Thankfully the first few chapters are included at the end and it was enough to satisfy me for now. This compainion novella also reminded me of how sad the first two books made me..which is why I mentioned "almost" wanted to read. With all that being said, I would recommend reading the series before this companion as it does contain many spoilers.
I really didn't think this book added a whole lot to the story. To me, it kind of seemed like Ms. Blackwell was trying to give us an in depth look into the psyches of all of the characters instead of just writing about what happened. This seemed like overkill because we already know about all of the characters from having read the books. Read it if you really want to, but don't feel like its necessary.

However, I do highly recommend the other books in this series. They are excellent. This one just didn't do it for me.
I must say I'm a bit dissapointed by this novella. I loved the idea of having the story ( even just the beginning ) told by the perspective of other characters besides Scout but this was way to short ( one chapter for each of the characters ) and then at around 70% of the kindle edition this "new companion" to the series ends, and the 80 pages that are the lenght of the whole thing are completed with the first chapters from the first book ( that of course I have already read and paid for ).
I fell in love with the Timber Wolves series from the first chapter of Destiny Binds. This companion book gives insight to some of the events that took place during that book so that you understand some of the situations that happened. Its kind of like a behind the scenes look. You didn't get to witness the visit to Liam Cole by the Hagan clan until this book. That added some character to the original book. Knowing that Talley could sense Alex's feelings for Scout when they shook hands in the Shakespear class gives an insight into her confidence for their relationship. This is one series that I wish would have at least one more book about Scout and Liam's life together as mates.
As a companion piece to the Timber Wolves series, it was a great addition. I love when an author gives the perspective of other characters. Since the original story is told from first person point of view, it is nice to see the world from all the angles. There is so much more depth when an author provides these stories. Tammy Blackwell has created an entire authorverse without the lengthy drudgery akin to Wheel of Time or A Song of Ice and Fire. She has managed to keep it light and entertaining while showing the layers of creativity invested in the lives of her characters. I truly appreciated this companion piece and look forward to more works from this author. She has cemented her name on my "check what has been published lately from insert author here." Here is to a continuing world in Kentucky!
